bragging about my brother… and my daughter 💙

I’m having a proud sister moment…

My brother, Sam Mink, owner of Oyster House, was just named a 2026 America’s Classics Award winner by the James Beard Foundation. It’s like receiving an Oscar in the restaurant indsutry.

So obvi… Jamie the Great and I had to get him on the latest episode of Talking Smack 415.

Oyster House is also celebrating its 50th anniversary. No big deal… just a third-generation restaurateur keeping the family biz alive and thriving.

We go deep, into the Mink family story: the resistance, the “I’m not doing this” moments… and somehow, each generation finds his way back (with their own twist).

We also get into:
⚡️Growing up Mink (yes, there are stories… and yes, they’re funny)
⚡️ The philosophy behind great hospitality, making every guest feel seen
⚡️ Why hiring nice people is non-negotiable
⚡️ Creating timeless restaurant experiences
⚡️ The real (and slightly terrifying) realities of running a restaurant
⚡️ What it takes to evolve a restaurant to iconic status

If you love Philadelphia, iconic restaurants, or great family stories then this episode is for you.
